Generous through the thigh and narrowing at the ankle, its half-balloon shape was drawn for moving freely on rooftops and at the workbench. Its colour is a trade code: \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eblack\u003c\/span\u003e is worn by the carpenters and roofers of the \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eCompagnons du Devoir\u003c\/span\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThis is the \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003ehigh-waisted version \"à tirants\"\u003c\/span\u003e: no belt loops, but a tall waistband with two pairs of buttons at the front and one at the back for \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003ebraces\u003c\/span\u003e, a six-button fly with a steel hook, and a buckled adjuster tab at the back. Five pockets complete it — two slanted front pockets, a watch pocket, the traditional \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003epiped ruler pocket\u003c\/span\u003e on the right leg, and a buttoned piped pocket at the back.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eIt is cut from a heavy \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e300-wale corduroy\u003c\/span\u003e of 500 g\/m², woven with a twisted warp for strength: warm, structured and built to last.
