Fog Linen Work: Pioneering Linen Simplicity and Elegance

A Journey from Passion to Innovation

Yumiko Sekine, the founder of Fog Linen Work, embarked on her entrepreneurial path in 1993 by importing used books and housewares from Europe and America to Japan. Yearning to rediscover the simple, affordable everyday linens of her childhood, her quest led her to Lithuania—a country renowned for its rich flax cultivation, which transforms into exquisite linen.

Discovering and Reviving Linen Craftsmanship

Despite Lithuania's deep-rooted history in linen production, Yumiko found a significant gap in the market: linen products crafted for daily use were scarce. This realization steered her towards collaborating with local artisans to create her own designs, tailored for everyday functionality.

Establishing Fog Linen Work’s Diverse Range

What began as a modest collection of seven items has, over a decade, expanded into an extensive line of home products and clothing made from linen. Today, Fog Linen Work is at the forefront of the natural lifestyle movement, continuously influencing and setting trends with its emphasis on beauty and simplicity in everyday objects.
