Copper Scouring Ball
Scrub hard, scratch nothing. The Copper Scouring Ball by Andrée Jardin is spun from 100% copper thread — soft enough to leave your pans, sinks and hobs unmarked, sharp enough to lift the baked-on residue a sponge gives up on.
Copper has a quiet advantage over steel wool: it does not rust. Rinse it, leave it by the sink, and it keeps its shape and its bite for months rather than weeks — a real alternative to disposable synthetic scourers.
Use it on stainless steel, enamel, cast iron, glass and ceramic. For a deeper clean, let it soak a few minutes in hot water with a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda.
One caution: avoid non-stick coatings such as Teflon, which it will damage.
A humble, hard-working object from a French house that has been making them since 1947.
