Laura Living

The beauty of simplicity.

One-of-a-kind instead of mass production, lasting values instead of short-lived fashions: Laura Living Style cutting boards and chopping blocks are handcrafted in a small manufactory. Each board is unique - a piece of nature as individual as the tree from which the wood is sourced. Our aim is to provide a platform for sustainable interior design and to help preserve old craft traditions.

Natural oak cutting boards

A cut above the rest! Natural oak chopping boards from Laura Living Style provide a solid, knife-friendly base for small and large tasks in the kitchen. They make chopping a pleasure and also cut a fine figure when serving. The wide variety of sizes means there is a board to suit every purpose.

TAPAS, On the catwalk.
The long, slender tapas boards provide the perfect backdrop for a grand entrance of small appetisers. Antipasti, snacks, finger food and more can all be seductively arranged on the boards as an enticing eye-catcher on any dining table. They are also great for serving canapes at a cocktail party.

ROBUST, the Classic.
Cutting pleasure at its purest: The robust models provide a solid, blade-friendly base allowing sharp knives to unfold their full performance. The wide range of sizes makes it easy to find the right board for every purpose and every kitchen.

BAGUETTE, Goes a long way
Form clearly follows function with this extraordinary model. A cutting board for French baguette, as it should be: long, slim, and elegant. As unique and inimitable as the world-famous bread, served here in a „très chic“ fashion.

Black Edition

With the "Black Edition" inspired by Shou Sugi Ban, Laura Living Style brings a piece of ancient Japanese tradition into our era: wooden boards and bowls in magical black.

Beauty from the elemental force of fire with the "Shou Sugi Ban" is a unique firing technique inspired by centuries-old Japanese traditions. The surface of the wood chars and becomes extraordinarily hard-wearing in a natural way because the fire extremely compacts the cells in the wood. This keeps mould, water, rot, weathering and pests at bay.

The heat of the fire produces a deep black yet very vivid colour that beautifully accentuates the texture of the wood. The grain, which is unique to each piece of wood, is additionally emphasised by the charring. Over the years, the black charcoal layer ages and develops an attractive patina that adds to the visual appeal of the design.

Shou Sugi Ban continues to enjoy great popularity in Japan. The black wood can be found in the most modern architectural concepts, finest interiors and artistic design objects. With the "Black Edition" inspired by Shou Sugi Ban, Laura Living Style now brings a piece of ancient Japanese tradition into our era: wooden boards and bowls that are deeply rooted in history and fascinate with their archaic beauty.
